St Nicholas Sutton; Shopping, Films, Food – all in one place

Debenhams, Sutton

Everyone knows it, I do like shopping! It’s also hard to find a place one can shop and have fun all in one place. Being local is also a must and convenient, so what better place to go than the St. Nicholas Centre in Sutton. The centre offers shopping, food, fun, the gym and cinema – all in one place.

South London is my favourite place to visit and easy for me to travel to. Sutton has easy bus and train links. If travelling by car, then you can park at the St. Nicholas car park. If you are watching a film then all the more better, as the ticket can be validated if under 3 hours and will be free.

The cinema in Sutton is the Empire. This has recently had a multi-million development and offers a more plush and relaxing atmosphere. Take a well deserved rest with one of three varieties of seating. The superior standard seats which are spacious, a sofa, which are very comfortable and the ultimate in alleviation and rest with the reclining seats (my personal favourite). I have tried both the sofas and the reclining seats and have had an amazing visual experience. I do like the recliners, as you feel like you are lying down and ready for the film ahead.

The cinema also has invested in the state-of-the-art technology and comfort. The cinema offers 10 screens, so lots of films to choose from. The exciting thing to try has to be at the D-Box auditorium – another of the screens – which has none other than moving seats. I haven’t tried these, but I will be on my next trip to the Empire.

We recently saw an Indian movie there, which was very entertaining and we enjoyed the comfort of the sofas. I would highly recommend the Empire and will be making a visit again very soon.

There are a wide variety of food places in the food court area. I particularly enjoyed the food at the
Sugar and Spice. We had American waffles with fried chicken and maple syrup and it was yummy. My son really loved them. They also have some mean milkshakes, pancakes and a variety of delicious foods that are not too spicy. If however, you’d prefer something sweet, then the word on the street is that you don’t have to go far for the infamous bubble waffle. Sugar and Spice is the place for these tasty sweet deliciousness.

You can find a festival of shops at the St. Nicholas from Primark, Oasis, New Look to Debenhams, Flight Centre and Shop Mobility. We even stopped by at Debenhams and had a quick masterclass with Urban Decay. The ladies used the new Cherry Palette to create a wonderful look. I was really lusting after the palette and am yet to get it. Maybe will soon.

There also is a sweat gym for those intending to keep fit or for those that want more activity. Talking of activity the lovely St Nicholas centre has a Games Garden which has a variety of traditional games such as Table Tennis, Pool and air hockey along with interactive games such as Fifa and Mario Kart.

Games Garden

It is open from Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 11am – 5pm, and will keep the men and kids entertained, while the girls go to shop! And, a bonus is that it is FREE! It is suitable for all ages and can be found on the ground floor near the Sweat! Gym.

So, what you waiting for the ultimate shopping experience… Do visit the St. Nicholas Centre and see for yourself. Doesn’t it sound inviting?
