Microdermabrasion Facial from SkinBase

Skin Base

I recently was kindly invited down to have a microdermabrasion facial with Skin-Base. You can find your nearest SkinBase™ Therapist on their website. I can highly recommend having a facial with them, especially the microdermabrasion facial. You may also have seen them on the tv recently too.

The facial was in tribute to Acne Awareness Month, which Microdermabrasion is great for; acne that is!

The Microdermabrasion treatment uses a stream of tiny crystals to help old skin cells shed away. The therapist will use a gentle vacuum action to stimulate the micro-circulation. This improves the appearance of the skin while increasing collagen and elastin production, overall improving skin texture and it’s elasticity.

The crystals are so tiny. They’re shaped irregularly so that they can penetrate the skin without damaging it. You may not know this, but it can also be used over the body, not just on the face.

This type of facial is very beneficial for older skin like mine, so I was very grateful to have had it.

I went to a place I haven’t been before. It was by the river, so really nice to get to and very scenic.
The venue was the Radisson Blu Edwardian hotel, New Providence Wharf near Canary Wharf. So, I was in my element before I had stepped through the door.

Another bonus was that on that particular day it was also quite warm. It is always nice also to get away from work early on a warm and sunny day. I slinked off work early, 😉

SkinBase Facial

I do like a good pamper session. The treatment lasted around 40 minutes and was absolute bliss! A facial has many benefits, not only the clearing of the skin, but also as a way to relax and unwind while being pampered.

Here are some before and after shots:

You can see in the after picture that the skin has lost some pigmentation. You will be able to see better in the main picture of my blogpost. My skin sure looks glowy and very fresh.

The wonderful thing about facials are that they provide an outlet for positivity and relaxation.

The ladies who invited me down were very lovely, as well as friendly. The therapist who worked on my skin was also lovely, helpful and explained what she was doing so well and made me so comfortable. All in all, I was very happy with everything and will have to have another facial very soon.

Thank you so much Skin-Base for inviting me down, I was really buzzing.
