Look Fantastic December Beauty box

I must say that this box has the most exciting products. This month is no exception.

For £15 you get six (in this case 7) great products that you wouldn’t get in say a magazine now or have done previously.

The products in the December box range from:

Pure Gold Collagen Drink. A food supplement that is said to improve the quality of the skin.

Bourjois green eye shadow which is bold on any occasion but would be ideal for the Christmas season and would compliment brown eyes (but would probably suit any eye colour) which is perfect for me.

Lord & Berry Polish Eye Pencil in Mirror Black. This is perfect for a smoky eye look or simply used in the water line and tight line to create a smouldering look!

Macadamia Healing Oil Infused Comb. This comb is interesting, as it just looks like a normal comb, yet it is infused with Macadamia Healing Oil. I tried this and it made my hair look shiny and silky, however I wasn’t aware of any oil. No oiliness means nicer looking hair.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser 45ml. It’s always nice to try a new cleanser and this one is no exception. It has a lovely fruity smell. I have always wanted to try a Murad product and thanks to Look Fantastic I have a chance to.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml, I haven’t really used a peel for a long time, so it’ll be good to try and I look forward to see the results.

Ole Henriksen’s Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil 15ml. I have heard rave reviews about this brand, particularly about the wipes. This is a spray that not only freshens the face but also hydrates the skin.

All in all I am really pleased with this month’s box and the products. It is definitely worth getting at £15, because the products exceed the price. And you don’t have to commit to monthly payments.

This box is also great to give as a gift. I also love the packaging, it is very classy and presented well. Very sexy. 🙂

Bloggers Love Hub Event

I stumbled upon this bloggers event on Twitter while searching the keyword bloggers and was instantly intrigued and signed up. I was lucky enough to be invited and am thankful to the organisers of the Bloggers Love as I had a really good time and met some wonderful people.

Unfortunately I was also suffering from severe toothache, so very nearly didn’t attend, but I persevered and it was well worth it!

The venue was also very excitingly exotic hosted at the Kanaloa club in Chancery Lane – lovely people, models and cocktails!

The line up was good and the very first exhibitor or person I met was from Slendertone. It was really interesting to have a chat about the fantastic products that they sell. I particularly was interested in the Slendertone for Abs and Bottom.

I met some other great exhibitors including Nadia Minkoff who kindly showed me some of her great accessories that are due out in April. Some of her purses were so beautiful that I liked them immediately and wanted. I also got some great pieces in a goody bag from Nadia, thank you so much. 🙂

IMG_6119

I was throughly pampered on the evening, I had my nails done by the lovely Toop & Daley ladies.

IMG_6149

I also had my hair done by a lovely stylist from Umberto Giannini. I was given great advice, a fantastic hair style and some free products in a stylish silver bag.

IMG_6173

I enjoyed a great and delicious juice drink with health benefits and collagen for the skin from Biocorrex.

Also met a lovely lady who gave me her beauty face mask to try. I will let you know how it goes…

I partook in some fun needle work on a notebook of all things at the DIY booth hosted by Erin and Skye from Eight & Sixteen. I also met the lovely Victoria, the founder of My Little Black Book with a service that offers young women advice and choices.

The brand I was most excited to meet, as this is the industry I work in is the online brand Vernez. An app where you can choose clothing you are interested in and assemble the perfect outfit. The fun thing about the app is that you can upload your picture and create a great outfit of the day or OOTDs.

All in all it was a fabulous event with a lot of lovely bloggers, brands, fashion shows (Apricot Clothing) and lovely gifts. I came away with a fantastic haul and can’t wait for the next event!

What’s in my handbag

So seeing what’s in my handbag seems to be the in thing. Just take a look at whatsinmyhandbag.com to see what the hype is all about and what’s in other people’s bags. Go on, you know you want to! You might even find things you may want to include in your own handbag.

So here comes the key product; the handbag and the most important accessory you can have. It provides a haven for your belongings and an accompaniment to any outfit and ultimate fashion accessory.

My handbag is a beautiful Radley bag which was a present from my sister-in-law for my birthday, so it’s even more special. It is not only sleek but also comes with lots of pockets and storage space.

So now here’s what’s in my handbag:

My diary, bought from Boots which I must admit is a bit girlie, but nonetheless I like it for the cute illustrations. 🙂 I also like the fact that it has a separate month at glance page, so that I can record important dates.

I have my foundation, which is a convenient trial size from Maybelline, small enough for the handbag. See my full review here.

Other usual items include a black mini makeup bag, Rimmel Provocalips, Little Mix palette, Rimmel Matt powder, some brushes and a few lip products.

I also have my pass, work Blackberry, keys, lip liner and a refillable travel atomiser spray. All perfect for when travelling and on the move.

So… What’s in your bag?

N.B. Did you notice that some of the contents of my handbag are my footer?

Monthly Favourites

This August and September I am loving…

Plus… My son, love him all the time! Not just for Christmas, I mean August and September!

He wanted to feature in my monthly favourites, and I obliged.

So here are my favs:

Little Mix Love All About Eyes Palette
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, Instant Focus Beauty Flash
Rimmel London Stay Matt Powder
Benefit’s It’s potent! Eye cream (Birchbox)
Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman shading brush
NUDE ProGenius treatment Oil (Birchbox)
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Velvet Matt Lipstick
New ankle boots from New Look

Also, featuring my bedsheets and 2014 Diary – Little Violet.

Little Mix Love All About Eyes Palette

This palette is amazing! As recommended by one of my favourite YouTubers Amelia Liana. Thank you so much, as I love this palette. It is a really great price and to top it off I got a pound off, so it was a bargain at only £2.50.

eyes

It has all the colours you need. The browns compliment each other and the black over the lashline creates a smoky eyeliner effect and is a change to the traditional liquid liner.

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, Instant Focus Beauty Flash

The Beauty Flash is a great elixir. I love Charlotte Tilbury, she is an inspiration, and so is her Wonder Glow which creates a great glow on the skin and adds something extra underneath your favourite foundation. I would recommend this and as a bonus – its suppossed to be great for your skin too!

Rimmel London Stay Matt Powder

Just love this powder! It creates a flawless look to foundation, matifies the skin and to top it all off, it’s only £3.99. What’s there to quibble about?

Benefit’s It’s potent! Eye cream

This was from September’s Birchbox and is lovely, it has made a difference to my dark circles. Enough said. 🙂

The Real Techniques shading brush by Samantha Chapman

This brush is great for packing on eyeshadow and shading, so is really versatile. The Real Techniques brushes are of highest quality and are highly recommendable.

NUDE ProGenius treatment Oil

This oil was with the August Birchbox and really highdrates the skin. It was great to try it and I have found it really good on my dry patches.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Velvet Matt Lipstick

These are great for a pop of colour with a non-drying matt look. The colour I chose isn’t your typical colour and looks fab on my lips. I can’t however capture it on camera. I can say that it is a colour that is an alternative to the red, which doesn’t suit all. It’s between red and dark pink and is divine! It’s in the shade 307 and is called Meteoric Matte and would look great on all skin tones, especially on Asian skin.

New ankle boots from New Look

New Look have some fabulous boots this Autumn. I wanted some boots that would see me through Autumn and not too long (I have reserved long boots for the Winter season.) So whilst visiting Oxford I came across these fabulous boots:

sep-favs2

These are not the usual ones I would go for (a bit biker-ish), but it’s good to be different, once in a while. 🙂

June & July Favourites

This month I am loving…

…Chanel Foundations
No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter
Mac Lipglass in Lust
Porefessional
Ren Cleanser
L’Oréal Paris Color Appeal Eyeshadow
EOS Lip Balm

The Chanel Foundations.

The lovely lady at the Chanel counter gave me a few samples of three different foundations and I was hooked! I tried the PERFECTION LUMIÈRE VELVET, The VITALUMIÈRE AQUA and the CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE. Out of all these I loved the latter two.

I have heard so much about the Aqua foundation and it is a favourite with the beauty Gurus. It’s also great for the summer. The foundation that looked good on my skin was the Vitalumiére. It has more of a thicker and fuller coverage than the Aqua foundation, which is ideal for special occasions or a night out.

I must say that the quality of the Chanel foundations and cosmetics are amazing and very recommendable. The only downside is the price. However, the foundation lasting power is great so well worth the price and treat!

The colours come in a variety of shades and make the complexion look glowy and full of illuminousity. The coverage is also really good and long wearing too!

No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter

This is a great highlighter in a stick. It’s easy to carry and use, just add onto the tops of the cheeks, just above the blusher. It is so easy that you can just apply and go! This gives a glowy sheen on the face.

Mac Lip Glass

Anyone wanting to be like Jenny on the Block needs this lip gloss in their life! Mac Lip glass in Lust is a peachy dream which creates a glow like JLo (Pardon the pun!)

It’s such a nice shade that brightens up the face and will flatter most. I would recommend this lip glass. The only downside is that the consistency is sticky, so will stick to your hair. LOL. If you don’t mind this then this is a must have!

The Porefessional

The porefessional is a great and staple in anyone’s make-up bag. The beauty of this is to refine the pores and makes foundation seem more seamless.

Ren Cleanser

I am also loving the this Cleanser for reasons that it is mild, doesn’t hurt my eyes and is soothing when using the warm wash cloth.

Plus if I had been using this sooner, I think I would have avoided the black panda eyes and dark under eye circles that I have.

It’s also great for when you just feel lazy and can’t be asked to get the cotton pads and the make-up remover out. Using a cleanser also doubles up as a face freshener.

Any help with the reduction of the dark circles is a bonus and always welcome in my makeup routine!

L’Oréal Paris Eye shadow Color Appeal

I bought this eyeshadow in the colour Brun Lame (168). It isn’t just your average brown eye shadow! This has copper elements to it, plus small gold particles that give the lid an iridescent lighting. Paired with some liquid eyeliner the eyes look dazzling.

EOS Lip Balm

I like this lip balm. The packaging is really cute. I have the Summer Fruit flavour, which means it smells really fruity. This is great for dry lips and works great when used overnight.
Although this isn’t really readily available everywhere but you can buy this from Top Shop. The price is also on the slightly pricey side for a lip balm (£7) but I highly recommend this lip balm.

The packaging is really chic and colourful and the lip balm is rounded which is unusual, making it easy to apply. The ingredients are rich in vitamin E, Shea butter and jojoba oil and free from petroleum and parabens, so very good for the lips and make them feel soft.

All round I have been liking many products this and last month, but the Chanel foundation is the clear winner!

New Birchbox

I was really excited when I heard that the Birchbox was adding the Beauty Blender to their offering of products in the June box! There is no guarantee what products will be in the box, but I took a chance and ordered it.

The concept is a good one for beauty fanatics. Their strapline being – Discover beauty and lifestyle products to suit you! The aim is to let customers sample some great high end products. Names like Caudalie (famous for their beauty elixir), theBalm and OPI to name just a few.

It’s a beauty junkies dream! I was lucky enough to have got the Beauty Blender which was my main motivation for wanting the box.

I am so excited to try the Beauty Blender (which includes a blender cleanser) as it is an iconic product that all beauty guru/bloggers recommend and use!

the-products

This month’s products were from all over the world and has a World Cup/Brazil theme, hence the green pouch.

The other great products in my box were; the Caudalie day perfecting fluid, the Naobay Body Radiance Lotion, a miniature OPI nail polish, theBalm cheek and lip tint and a Birchbox Brazil themed flip flop key ring.

The subscription costs £10 a month and you can cancel at any time. I recommend signing up, just for this box alone. I am so happy with my box and can’t wait to try them!

Thanks Birchbox!

May Favourites

This month I am loving…

…All things beauty! I went to a family wedding in May and couldn’t do without the items below:

I’ll start with the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is a replenishing Elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning.

I put some on my hands and tap it into my skin just before bedtime. The smell of lavender is very soothing and in the morning my skins feels so nice and smooth. There are many night time serums arround but I find this one is great for the skin and affordable. I can recommend this if your skin needs a little night time tlc.

Next I am loving Laura Mercier’s body and bath soufflé in ambre vanillé. This smells so nice on  the body and really lingers on the skin. It’s a scent in a bottle! Even my husband is a huge fan! My son does too and am sad that it’s nearly finished. 🙁

Next I am not usually a fan of bright coloured lipstick, but I wanted to be a little daring in the month of May. So when I tried the L’Oréal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in the colour Ruby Opera, I was pleasantly surprised; red/maroon actually suited me! I find it brightens up my complexion and looked good too!  I got a lot of compliments while wearing it at a recent function.

I was also liking the Essie hors d’oeuvres nail polish. This is a glittery nail polish that is silver with flecks of gold in it, which also creates a great accent nail. It came in very handy at the wedding I recently attended. I really like this nail polish which can also be worn on its own at a glitzy event.

I absolutely love this next product.  The price is steep, but really worth it! It’s the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Mood Light.  This powder creates a glow to the skin and adds to  flawlessness. I like this powder as it adds dimension to my face and have had lots of compliments on my skin since I started using this.

The last item I am loving is the Mac Mineralize concealer in NC42. I find that this particular  concealer is great for adding light to the eyes.  I use in true Kardashian style, drawing on a triangle under my eye and blending it in with a brush.  It adds a shine where the sun hits it.

Well most of those were high end, but I am very much a local drug store kind of Gal (Boots/Superdrug). I prefer the more reasonable price tags 😉 But if a product is really good I will pay for it, as the Ambient Powder and Kiehls Midnight Recovery above.

P.S. I had the loveliest time at my cousins wedding!

Also, this month I have been loving Vampire Dairies and Revenge on tv. I am sad though that both have just finished for the season.
