This July was made special by Eid – which was a little bit easier than the last, as things were easing a bit during quarantine. Although still working from home, as it is safer for myself and the family.
It’s nice to pen down some of memories of these odd times. Eid did bring some joy into the sometimes boring time. A time for cheer and forgetting life’s woes.
I took Friday off especially for Eid which gave me a long weekend to spend time with my family and also to get a chance to dress up.
Eid was nice, we had a BBQ in the garden and special celebrations that come with Eid, like dressing up, family times and good food.
I will let you take a look at the photos from the day. The only thing this year is that we couldn’t spend time with my mum and dad because they are shielding, so I was more than a little sad. Eid just isn’t the same without parents. There is a lot to be thankful for though, as we have our health and can work from home which is a very flexible option! More time to do things at home and more savings on travel.
My sister made a wonderful Eid Cake, she is so talented! If you remember she also made my cake for my birthday. The picture gallery below shows the stages of the cake, to buttering it with decoration to adding wording. My idea, but my sister came through to help with the cake on the day. Bless her.
Here are some memories of the day: Plus, there were lots of yummy goodies to boot.
Eid also happened to fall on the hottest day of the year – 33° and so was very sunny and made it even hotter to have a BBQ and therefore exhausting afterwards.
