I recently attended a very exciting event hosted by Harvey Nichols in collaboration with Laura Mercier at The Curtain Hotel. It was one event not to be missed. Why, you ask? It was the event of a lifetime and a chance to meet the Mario Dedivanovic aka Make up by Mario, Kim Kardashian’s infamous makeup artist.
The day started early. We were asked to arrive early, at 11.30am and the masterclass would start with some tips on applying makeup like a pro. The first lucky 100 getting a chance to take a photo with Mario himself! I was lucky enough to be one of the 100, and was really chuffed. The masterclass was advertised as happening first and then the photo shoot with Mario would be after. However, the photo session happened first and then he presented the masterclass.
Some lucky bloggers got a chance to meet Mario one-to-one and therefore the masterclass and photo session started a little later.
We had a chance to say hello to Mario and take a photo, which was a very big wish come true. I was more excited about the masterclass and getting tips on how to create flawless makeup.
Laura Mercer was obviously the makeup that was used, but it was useful to see how the products would be used, the application and how good the products really were. This was greatly informative, as I have never tried Laura Mercier products before. I know its shocking as everyone and anyone uses the famous translucent Powder. LOL.
The masterclass was fabulous. I learn’t how Mario took his time with the foundation, which I have never done on myself before, as I am always in a rush. I liked how the caviar stick was blended to create a fantastic smoky eye. His model was a lady called CC Clarke, who hadn’t heard before.
Mario was so friendly and answered lots of audience questions while he presented. Below is the finished look.
We received a wonderful goodie bag from Laura Mercier products and could buy some products from Laura Mercier through Harvey Nichols redeemable from the ticket price.
All in all it was an event that was more than worth it. Lucky me. Exciting and very memorable!
