Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Review

Love the Makeup Geek Eye Shadows

I started having the passion for makeup when I was younger. I find that this translates into my real life only on the odd special occasion; otherwise I prefer being fresh faced.

I came across Makeup Geek a few years back and just fell for Marlena’s tutorials. She to me was an inspiration. Her makeup and techniques were faultless and she made makeup application look effortless. I even attempted a few of her tutorials myself, if a little hap-hazardously.

She drew me into the whole world of beauty and makeup…
…So much so that I wanted all the makeup she recommended.

I was overjoyed when she bought out her own line of makeup. I was a world away (or oceans) but that didn’t stop me from ordering her lovely and most coveted eye shadows.

Warning: These are highly pigmented eye shadows!

Above are the eye shadows I ordered in the form of her starter kit – the Makeup Geek 9 Eye shadow Starter Kit – all you would need to do some basic and great shadow works of art.

The Starter Kit is a nice blend of shimmer and matte shadows.
The colours included in this starter kit are:
– Cocoa Bear –  Matte golden brown
– Mocha – Matte Warm medium brown
– Glamorous – Bronzy, shimmery gold
– Creme Brulee – Medium sand colour with a soft matte finish
– Shimma Shimma – Shimmery highlight
– Drama Queen – Densely dark purple with a shimmery finish
– Prom Night – Pale purple with hints of grey and a shimmery finish.
– Unexpected – Light and subtle pink matte purple blend
– Corrupt – Intense matte black with small bit of sparkle

I really loved the shades and the pigmentation was comparable to Mac eye shadows but even better!

I would recommend these for those who are starting out into makeup and for personal use or professionally. The black is the blackest eye shadow I have ever seen. It can also be used as eyeliner (wet or dry).

The brown and pinks are great for the crease and the more shimmery ones are great for under the brow or in the inner corner of the eye.

The shadows are cruelty-free and are not tested on animals; the eye shadows are also talc and Paraben-free.

I am now itching to try Marlena’s pigments, they look so good! If only they sold them in the UK! One can only wish.

The only downside was that even though shipping was affordable, I was not aware of the custom charge, which was a downer, but I don’t regret getting these eye shadows, they were a great choice!

Great job and keep up the great work Marlena!!!!
